Sorry we didn’t post yesterday. I know everyone is anxious to hear how Lily’s surgery went yesterday morning. According to her cardiologist everything went “smooth”. They were able to successfully implant and test the ICD. Her procedure took about 2.5 hours. She is still experiencing pain from the procedure and we are trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. This weekend we will break from physical therapy to allow her to recover from her surgery. We will start back with the physical therapy on Monday with the exception that she wont be able to lift her left arm for 30 days while her incision heals.
Lily had an MRI last minute Thursday evening. This was done because once she has her ICD she cannot have an MRI because the ICD is metal. Although we have not had a formal review of her MRI with her doctors the radiologist noted in her file that there has been “improvement” since her initial MRI done on July 10th (48 hours after her cardiac arrest). Thank you Lord!! We were so anxious to hear the results for fear of bad news that when we heard the good news we cried tears of joy.
Lily is so strong, so brave and such a determined little girl. I honestly don’t think I nor anyone I know would have the courage to withstand what this little Angel is going through everyday. Since her first breath when she was brought into this world via emergency c-section we have always referred to her as “strong-willed”. Well, from what I have seen that is an understatement. Please continue to…
